Happily Ever After

As i write this blog, my husband is snoring away! Zzzzz…

After a long disappearance from blogging… so much had happened, i don’t know where to start! Laziness is unavoidable!

Well, i can start off that i just got married.

Getting married in Malaysia was a complete nightmare because there were so many documents needed when a local marries a foreigner. However, during our ROM; it was smooth sailing and super fast. (even though it was raining!)

The Love of my Life 🙂

My first ever fiancee card!

Besides the big news on me getting hitched… there were many ups and downs happened throughout 2016… I am going to share a ton of photos in this post. Let me indulge my useless blog lol…

The Christmas meal. My husband cooked for Christmas 🙂

Our last Christmas in Malaysia

My granny passed away.

She lived a long, hard and meaningful 94 years of her life. I think her heart spared her from the misery of sitting in a wheelchair forever. Her generation (me) will carry on her lineage. Granny is at peace now!

We also spent a lot of time trying new food and places to eat. Selective photos were chosen though there were more to show but the photos looked bad!

I have gained over 5 kgs eating like a pig but the food was just too good to say NO 🙂 2016 had been a good year and 2017 will probably be one of the most challenging year ever. A different country, a change of job and a married life! What more can you ask for 🙂

Taiwan!

After so many years, we finally did a proper family trip to Taiwan; not my first choice but I’ll have the last say in the family 😦

The first thing you have to visit in Taiwan are the street food vendors lol

The next day, we went to Jiufen (rural suburbs)

I was worried my mom was not able to make it up the stairs lol

C360_2016-05-02-11-04-30-579.jpg

We manage to reach the top and there were tons of people. No fun.

The view, however, was quite amazing.

And then.. on to more food. Without food, the Chinese will die of a teeny weeny bit of hunger.

Tour Day!

We went to see Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Palace.

I manage to take a ‘wefie’ with the family. It was not easy because the stick didn’t get far enough but I have long hands and yelling everyone to not move was like yelling at lil kids. Then we realized we were actually standing at the back of the palace and it was on construction at the same time. LOL. wasted effort!

It was quite scary to see the amount of food being sold on the streets like it was worth nothing. Some looked too scary to eat while the others didn’t looked too tasty but I was quite disappointed that the food didn’t taste as good as the ones I had in Malaysia. Weird enough, I prefer Shinlin in Malaysia. Won’t be back to Taiwan for second rounds. Not my cuppa tea.

Monkey year is good!

The Monkey Year started off really well even though it said it will clash with my horoscope. I don’t really read much into horoscopes but they are fun to read when you are dead bored in the toilet with constipation. lol.

Anyway, I am starting off this entry with the success of another year at my family’s restaurant & bar. 3 years and counting.

Sister’s Wedding

The Wedding

The highlight of 2015 was probably my sister’s wedding. The first to get married off! The wedding was cut into 2 parts. First in Bali and another in Malaysia for the family and whoever couldn’t go to Bali.

The wedding lasted a mere 2 days of eating and prepping. The day of the vows, we were all drenched in sweat and melting makeup. lol. By the time the night fell upon us, I was drowning in my sweat, stinky armpits and terrible makeup. We lost our appetites because it was so tiresome though the food was not bad.

We stayed and celebrated at The Four Seasons Hotel.

We had a private villa to ourselves and the villa is divided into multiple open concept rooms. The dining and lounge room were located outside of the bedroom. There was also a small private pool or dip pool complete with deck chairs which overlooked the Jimbaran ocean.

I was quite disappointed I never got the time to enjoy the hotel or Bali because we were half rushing the wedding preparations. Four Seasons is a great place for couples, honeymoon and even by yourself. lol. Might come back for the waves next time.

Our lovely private villa!

Then the second part of the wedding was with our family. We call it the ‘cham cha’ session. Including a dinner and exchange of ang paos. I was too busy taking care of my boyfriend and didn’t have the time to really take proper photos hence no photos to show for! lol…
