The Big Move!

We have finally moved to London and starting our new lives in a new environment. Well, new for me, old for my husband. The plan of moving to London was decided mid-late last year. It was not an easy decision for me because London was never my first choice to go to and I don’t know if I can find a job easily or that I like. But I decided that if you don’t do it, you will never know!

The moving was difficult and unforseen circumstances kinda hindered our schedule. Nonetheless, life still goes on! In the midst of all that messiness, we rewarded ourselves with UKs greatest food! Steak, pies, chips and burgers! Yum!

I was looking forward to the cold weather and gloomy skies cause I had enough of hot and humid temperatures! I suppose I am considered the unlucky ones because London’s hottest summer arrived here at 35-40 degrees. It is the hottest summer since 30 years ago in UK.

Shortly after I moved to the UK, my bestie of 20 years moved to London as well. Great minds think alike?

IMG_20170613_145733_589

I am starting to get use to the weather, food and way of living. People here are more receptive to politeness and get things done the right way. I do miss my nasi lemaks, curry laksa and all that Asian food but most of them I can cook on my own.

IMG_20170704_163703_224IMG_20170509_103046_160

There is still so much to do in London and we haven’t gotten half of it set up yet. More to share soon here!

Happily Ever After

As i write this blog, my husband is snoring away! Zzzzz…

After a long disappearance from blogging… so much had happened, i don’t know where to start! Laziness is unavoidable!

Well, i can start off that i just got married.

Getting married in Malaysia was a complete nightmare because there were so many documents needed when a local marries a foreigner. However, during our ROM; it was smooth sailing and super fast. (even though it was raining!)

The Love of my Life 🙂

My first ever fiancee card!

Besides the big news on me getting hitched… there were many ups and downs happened throughout 2016… I am going to share a ton of photos in this post. Let me indulge my useless blog lol…

The Christmas meal. My husband cooked for Christmas 🙂

Moms birthday cake & dinner!

Our last Christmas in Malaysia

My granny passed away.

She lived a long, hard and meaningful 94 years of her life. I think her heart spared her from the misery of sitting in a wheelchair forever. Her generation (me) will carry on her lineage. Granny is at peace now!

We also spent a lot of time trying new food and places to eat. Selective photos were chosen though there were more to show but the photos looked bad!

I have gained over 5 kgs eating like a pig but the food was just too good to say NO 🙂 2016 had been a good year and 2017 will probably be one of the most challenging year ever. A different country, a change of job and a married life! What more can you ask for 🙂

Cambodia, Siem Reap

After we got back from London, we decided to celebrate our Anniversary in Siem Reap, Cambodia (also cause it was cheaper) lol

We stayed in a town near the Angkor Wat temples. The hotel was really old and creepy. Kinda like a scary 1950’s mansion.

We roamed around Pub Street and the Night Markets. Tuk tuks cost USD$2 per ride. Convenient and efficient. Unlike Malaysia lol.

London!

After waiting for so long for this trip, I finally get to go to London for 10 days. Yay!

The first day we landed *jetlagged*

We had BBQ Pork Ribs in the hotel.

The next day for breakfast…

We had a British breakfast buffet for only 8.99 pounds per pax. Cheap!

There is just a ton of pics to post but these were the best ones. I like the cold weather in London.. the architecture.. the morality and the food! The food is so cheap in London. You can never go hungry! Can’t wait to go back for a second visit already!

Taiwan!

After so many years, we finally did a proper family trip to Taiwan; not my first choice but I’ll have the last say in the family 😦

The first thing you have to visit in Taiwan are the street food vendors lol

The next day, we went to Jiufen (rural suburbs)

C360_2016-05-02-11-03-50-106.jpg

I was worried my mom was not able to make it up the stairs lol

C360_2016-05-02-11-04-30-579.jpg

We manage to reach the top and there were tons of people. No fun.

C360_2016-05-02-11-06-10-100.jpg

The view, however, was quite amazing.

C360_2016-05-02-11-15-59-504.jpg

And then.. on to more food. Without food, the Chinese will die of a teeny weeny bit of hunger.

Tour Day!

We went to see Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Palace.

I manage to take a ‘wefie’ with the family. It was not easy because the stick didn’t get far enough but I have long hands and yelling everyone to not move was like yelling at lil kids. Then we realized we were actually standing at the back of the palace and it was on construction at the same time. LOL. wasted effort!

It was quite scary to see the amount of food being sold on the streets like it was worth nothing. Some looked too scary to eat while the others didn’t looked too tasty but I was quite disappointed that the food didn’t taste as good as the ones I had in Malaysia. Weird enough, I prefer Shinlin in Malaysia. Won’t be back to Taiwan for second rounds. Not my cuppa tea.

Monkey year is good!

The Monkey Year started off really well even though it said it will clash with my horoscope. I don’t really read much into horoscopes but they are fun to read when you are dead bored in the toilet with constipation. lol.

Anyway, I am starting off this entry with the success of another year at my family’s restaurant & bar. 3 years and counting.
